Конвертировать HDF-EOS в GeoTiff

Здравствуйте, уважаемые форумчане.

Возникла задача: необходимо конвертировать HDF-EOS в набор GeoTiff файлов.

Делаю это следующим образом:
gdal_translate -sds -of GTiff <hdf file> <tiff file>

На выходе получаю набор GeoTiff файлов.
Эти файлы просто представляет собой битмапы без учета наложения на земную поверхность.
Каким образом можно наложить полученные GeoTiff на земную поверхность?

HEG выдает ошибку при выборе файла:
Can not load <filename>.
Make sure that file is HDF-EOS2 file and contains Swatch or Grid objects.
Error: unknown error.
Судя по всему HEG не поддерживает нужный мне Modis Level-2 Data:

MRT и MRTSwath тоже выдают ошибки :(

Нашел следующую статью:
Использование GDAL для привязки растровых материалов

В соответствии с ней, добавил контрольные точки:
gdal_translate -gcp 0 0 127.0955 36.6127 \
-gcp 243 0 129.6607 37.25673 \
-gcp 0 2079 129.1308 32.14597 \
-gcp 243 2079 131.5865 32.75763 \
1.tif 2.tif
И преобразовал:
gdalwarp 2.tif 3.tif
Получил проекцию снимка на плоскость, а необходимо на поверхность земли :(

Что предпринять:
1. Добавить больше контрольных точек?
2. Задать исходную и конечную системы координат снимка? Если да, то где их взять?

Нужно получить снимок натянутый по поверхность земли (геоид).

то есть вторую картинку вы называете "натянутой на поверхность земли (геоид)"? хмм... на что же по вашему натянута та что привязана по геогр.координатам?

MRT ругается что с вашими данными он не работает, не подходит этот инструмент в данном случае.
